"Incident was one of netart’s first collectives. Founded in 1994 in Paris, after a first contact with the Web at IRCAM, the site gradually formed until it became autonomous in 1997. The members of Incident share an interest in the aesthetic role of the failure and the accident, in the deconstruction of the narrative and in the socio-affective impact of the network and innovation. Far from an ideological unity, the members of Incident have shared issues through exhibitions, a workshop, works responding to each other and special editions inviting other artists to react to themes common to the Web and art history.
